Well, hopefully more of you will start catching on to this whole blog thing... there will be contests galore... lots of prizes to win! :) So, keep checking back before Sunday when Pastor Adam is going to start teaching you about "Chasing the Wind!"

Pastor Adam and I took the kids and headed out to see the show this past weekend and holy cow! We were blown away! These girls should be VERY proud of the awesome job the entire cast did!! Tons of fun for all of us!

It's girls vs. boys in the biggest candy drive of the year. 

at stake: a party and the sheer thrill of winning the title of 'master candy collectors!'

Can the boys finally pull ahead and stomp the reigning champion girls? Or are the girls destined to be the all-time greatest master candy collectors of all-time?

It starts Sunday! Bring in bags of candy for Eggstravaganza! We'll give points to your team and SOMEone is going to win! :)

Now. Since this blog is Faith Kids' Best Kept Secret. A challenge. If you read this blog and come into Faith Kids on Sunday wearing something BLUE and you tell me "I read this blog, Miss Courtney, so I'm wearing BLUE" I will give you a prize from the prize cart. Got it? So if you're reading, wear blue. And if you wear blue, you get a prize. :) And if you tell ANYONE who didn't read this we'll take marshmallows and stuff them in your ears! (just kidding.)

Stay Soft, Faith Kids

Well, ELEMENTS has finally kicked off! Earth was a smash success, along with the skit, and I really felt like you guys grabbed hold of the concept to stay soft, stay teachable, not to get so hardened that you can’t hold any more of what God has for you.

Hopefully you all put your rocks in a safe place, as a reminder not to let yourself get so hard! I’ve got mine right here:

This week, I won’t be at service. I’ll be HERE:

in Myrtle Beach with my wife’s dad, his friend, and his friend’s son. We’ll be flying out on Friday morning, and getting back on Tuesday, so I won’t be there for the service! L

But, Pastor Matt and Carrie Erikson and the other leaders will be heading up the Small Groups, and Luke and Rachel Dillaman, back from the abyss, will be there to lead the worship! How cool is that?? You guys and gals are going to have a blast this weekend!

I’ll be thinking of all of you as I’m desperately looking for my ball.

That was the post to go up before I left, but as you can see, it’s being posted after I’m back!!

I heard nothing but wonderful things about the service from Pastor Matt; the games went great, the small groups, although “small” might be pushing it, went fantastic, there was no blood and the building is still standing!

Maybe I should go on vacation more often.

I’ve got tons of video footage from the trip, and here’s another link to one of the golf courses we played. (Myrtle Beach National Southcreek) It was 70 degrees and sunny every day, but I’m glad to be back. Something about going away makes you appreciate home even more.

A little drama for ya...

So, how was Game Day on Sunday?? I was home with sick little ones, but I bet it was a ton of fun!!

One thing that we are especially excited about coming up this Sunday is the addition of drama in the Faith Kids Service!! We've got something planned to help get the point across as Pastor Adam begins his awesome series on "The Elements." Yes, it was scheduled for this past week, but as we all know... schedules change due to unforeseen circumstances all the time, and this was one of those times!!

BUT... this week... it's time! It's time to unveil our first ever Faith Kids drama... and here is your cast:

I'm in it too, but I'm just a narrator, so I don't get a picture on a blog. :)

I am sooo excited we're adding some drama to our already FUN services!! It just makes everything MORE fun - and hopefully it will help the point stick a little more, like bubble gum on the bottom of your favorite tennis shoe.

And if you want to get involved in Faith Kids Drama, just let me know!! We're looking for more actors, and we're going to be doing LOTS more of this, so get ready! :) And have a great week!!

The Newest Faith Kid!!

Big Congratulations to Jeff and Melissa Carlson on the birth of their daughter, Trenna Lynn!! Big brothers Nate, Ryan and Trey are home to welcome their new baby sister!! Can't wait to meet her!

Coming Soon!!

Very soon, Pastor Adam will begin a series called "The Elements." You're going to learn a whole new way to look at the earth around you.

The series will last four weeks and parents will be given a guide to help you reinforce the principles at home.

Pastor Adam is already like a mad scientist trying to figure out some really cool things to include as he uses the elements as object lessons, and this series will mark the beginning of drama in our children's services! (It's about time, huh??) Can't wait for it!

Up and Running.

We've had visions of a spot online where we could communicate with the kids and parents of Faith Kids, and it looks like it's finally happening. We've finally figured out a good system for updating our website, which will be happening very soon, and this little blog is going to be the perfect way for you to get involved! We've got lots of cool things to add and tons of ideas on ways to have fun between Sundays, so if you found us, let us know... and come back again soon! :)
